Trademark's
origins date back to 1988 when, at the tender ages of 7 and 9 years
old, cousins Oliver Horton and Stuart Meads composed their first
songs together using their Yamaha Portasound and a great uncles
temperamental 4-track. Moving on to 1999, and with a third member,
Paul Soulsby, the current Trademark line-up emerged. Sparse gigs
in Oxfordshire village halls and CDRs of new material, crazy bootlegs
and nonsense sounds, slowly built up interest, until an official
debut at Truck Festival 2002.
From
here on Trademark have achieved an impressive live presence, including
support slots with The Human League and Chicks On Speed, multiple
appearances at London electro nights 'The Fan Club' and 'Electrogogo',
and a main stage appearance at Truck Festival 2003. Their stage
show involves uniform light-up lab-coats, science of sound lectures,
and a giant flashing Perspex mains plug. Trademark release their
debut album 'Want More' in June 14th on Truck Records.
